How I Started Doing Paralegal Jobs From HomeBefore I started doing paralegal jobs from home: Sure you're there to wake your kids up and feed them breakfast before the day’s work schedule. Everything is so rushed by a time constricted schedule that you don’t even remember what your child said to you. “That’s Nice” is your auto responder reply to anything that poses a possible disruption to your schedule; there’s a robot running your house that looks just like you! Everyone tells you that you’re doing a great job, but you know in your heart you’re not being the parent you want to be but what else can you do, you need to earn a living? Have you searched the internet looking for paralegal jobs? Maybe you tried several work from home opportunities hopeful of finding something that may change your situation only to find it was a scam. Maybe you’ve heard so many horror stories from other work at home moms that you just settle for life you have.
Just a couple of years ago I was what I call a “Mommy Robot or Robot Mom.” I know it sounds silly but being “Robot Mom” was a really low time of life for me.
Divorce was imminent and welcomed after five years of marriage. Every parent wants a mom and dad for their children, but sometimes it’s better to have one happy parent than two miserable parents.
The divorce was horrific and the custody battle for our three children then 6, 4 and 2 actually cost me my employment because of missed work days. I found another job rather quickly, but it was the summer of 2007 and school was out so daycare costs ate up over a third of my pay. It seemed life was in a downhill spiral. I worked long hours to try and make ends meet, but I was losing ground trying to shuffle bills around paying the shut off notices first and then paying what I could of the others. I would cry myself to sleep each night because nighttime was the only time there was time to think.
Raylynn was nearly eight and Robbie nearing six. My daughter and son, still very much children, had become surrogate parents to four-year-old Rustin. Every day was a blueprint of the day before. Raylynn and Robbie would get themselves cereal for breakfast, get themselves ready for school and feed and dress Robbie while I rushed to get myself ready for work and pack school lunches and the daycare bag. On the drive to school and daycare the kids would be talking and giggling about things that never registered in my mind because I was already mentally on the job.
Evenings weren’t much different than mornings. I would pick the kids up from the sitter about six, rush home and cook supper, attend to baths, do laundry and lay out the next day’s clothes, clean the dishes and put the kids to bed. I barely had time to think much less be the family bookkeeper too! I was definitely on the losing edge of control and the added stress was taking its toll in my parenting skills and on the job. I knew something had to change and it would be up to me to figure it out.
I started looking online for extra work I could do in the evenings at home after the kids went to bed. I filled out all kinds of inquires and even paid to get “inside” information on home work opportunities. I had no idea what I was thinking because I didn’t have any time with my kids as it was. I had become a full time “Robot Mom” and I had taken money from the already suffering budget to get a mailbox full of “scam” work at home programs.
The event that unplugged “Robot Mom” was when Raylynn had a school music recital and needed a special dress. I responded with my usual “that’s nice” without even hearing what I was responding to. The program was on a Thursday night in early October, the same Thursday I promised my boss, I would stay late and type a few depositions before going home. I called the sitter and told her I had to work late. Raylynn was wailing in the background to talk to me on the phone, but I told the sitter I didn’t have time and hung up. When I arrived at the sitter's house at almost 7:30 the house was dark. I started to imagine all kinds of horrible things as I walked towards the door, a short walkway that seemed like miles long that night. There was a note on the door that said “Meet us at the school, we all went to Raylynn’s Band Recital.”
I sat on the sitter’s stoop with tears running down my face for my poor little girl that I vaguely remember telling me about a dress and recital. How could I have missed something so important? How could I send my little girl to play in the tattered clothes she wore to school that day?
I made it to the school in time to see Raylynn play her piece with her classmates. She was wearing a pretty black dress with a white waist sash. My little girl looked so eloquently grown. I wasn’t there for my daughter that night and I had forgotten the special dress she needed. Raylynn was saved from her peers knowing she didn’t have a dress by a fast thinking babysitter because her mom had only one focus; work!
That’s the night I made up my mind to be a real live mom and dismantle “Robot Mom.”
I called in sick that Friday to search the internet for paralegal jobs I could do at home. I came across a job for online paralegal jobs that can be done from home. Paralegal jobs from home gave me back my life and gave my children a real live mom, a full time mom too!
I had only started into online paralegal jobs from home for two weeks when I gave a notice to my employer that I would be leaving to be MOM. It’s been a couple of years since I quit working in the rat race and started doing online paralegal jobs. I saved the house, I have a new SUV that is only used to transport the kids to school and for fun filled weekends. I don’t have to buy clothes for myself to work the rat race anymore so the savings buys really nice clothes for my kids instead of scraping to buy second hand. I have health coverage for the whole family that is especially for small business owners and I get all kinds of tax deductions because I use part of my house as an office.
Paralegal Jobs from home has changed my finances, lifestyle and the time I have to spend with my children I try not to think where I would be if I hadn’t found online paralegal jobs from home. I suppose we would have lost our home and the kids would be with “Robot Mom”.
Thanks to online paralegal jobs from home I have the opportunity to be a real mom, one that truly enjoys her children and spending time doing silly things like finger painting and playing in the park with sand. Last week we had a “pretend play” in the family room called “Robot MOM”. We all dressed up in “Robot Mom” clothes, even Rustin, and at the end of the play we finger painted the Robot MOM clothes we were wearing because we turned all the “Robot MOM’s” into Happy Real MOM’s.
I wanted to share a couple fellow previously "Robot MOM's" with you:
Hello Ruth, I just wanted to let you know that I have become a member of the Online Paralegal Jobs. I am still working my regular job but I have cut down my hours and I know soon I’ll be turning in my resignation. I can’t believe how relaxing work can be when you work from the comfort of your home doing paralegal jobs. I’ve been putting in some weekend time so I can expedite matching my pay so I can put in my resignation. Thank you so much for helping me change the direction of my life with Paralegal jobs from home. Thank You Paralegal Jobs! ---Carole, WA
Dear Ruth, I have been a member of Online Paralegal Jobs for about six weeks. I didn’t think I would be writing this letter because I have tried so many so called work-from home systems that failed to provide a source for the work I needed. I am gratefully happy to inform you that I am making more money from home than I did on the job based hour to hour. I have had lunch with the gals from my old workplace that I was laid off from. The gals are almost jealous because when I was working I couldn’t afford to go to lunch, much less buy it. I think the girls will be joining me soon. Deborah M, NM
Hi Ruth, I am a newbie to Paralegal jobs from home. I must say I was skeptical at first, but I just read through your whole site and I know I made a great decision to join Online Paralegal Jobs. My husband deployed to Afghanistan and me with four children and thousands of miles away from either of our families. I feel confident now. I will be able to earn a nice living and when my husband gets home I might have a little surprise nest egg saved for us. Thank you so much. This site and opportunity on finding paralegal jobs is truly a blessing; Shellie D. TX
Ruth, I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know that the Paralegal jobs from home leads are awesome. I have two ongoing contract jobs and a new one I just received today for a short term contract but big dollars. I would have never dreamed I would be working from home with Mom as my full time position. I just feel liberated and had to share. Lindy A, CA
